Egg & cheese croissant
A deeply browned, flaky croissant split and griddled around a fried egg and melting cheese. Our most-grabbed breakfast on the way to work.
Laminated croissants, fruit danishes, cupcakes and griddled breakfast sandwiches — pulled from the oven each morning at 33 Brackett Street. Walk in, smell it, take it with you.
The Baker's Bench is a small Westbrook bakery on Brackett Street — display cases, tile floor, and the smell of butter and sugar by 7 a.m.
The work starts in the dark: laminating dough for croissants, proofing danish trays, frosting cupcakes by hand. By the time the lights come on at the front, the racks behind the counter are full and the case is loaded.
We keep it honest and we keep it local — fresh batches over big batches, real butter over shortcuts, and a counter where the person handing you the box probably pulled it from the oven. Stop in Tuesday through Saturday and grab something while it's still warm.
Closed Mondays & Sundays — come for the morning rush.
